The Brain
Without fail, we will get at least one piece of mail each year around Christmas time addressed to "Brain". While it is quite flattering to Brian, it does make me wonder what that makes me. Should Brian be wearing a shirt that says, "I'm with Idiot--->"? In the worst case scenario, I think it might be an indirect hint that I must be Pinky from "Pinky and the Brain" as seen on the Animaniacs:
Either way, it always brings us a chuckle.

Graduation!
Yeah! Brian graduated on December 12th! It was an amazing commencement with President Uchtdorf as the speaker. We even had someone watch Sydney so I wouldn't have to cart the carrier everywhere! Thank you visiting teachers! Oh, and did I mention Brian shook hands with President Uchtdorf?
Brian is so thrilled to be graduated. He is still recuperating from the last semester but he is definitely enjoying being done. He says that now he can play games guilt-free! He will now have even more time to devote to job-hunting, so wish us luck!

Do you think what I think?
So, before I get into this, I want you to know I love Christmas songs but every now and then I think the lyrics need some work.
So, I was listening to the radio and the song "Do You Hear What I Hear" came on. It got to the verse where it said, "A child, a child, shivers in the cold. Let us bring him silver and gold" and I thought...... what? Because that is exactly what a cold person needs. You can't cuddle up with cold metal! It made me think of Alanis Morrisette's song "Ironic" and how she says, "It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife".
Now, of course, I did not bring up the issue without a solution! So, I propose the following changes to this verse:
Option #1: Forget about the cold altogether. "This child's, this child's coming was foretold. Let us bring him silver and gold."
Option #2: This variation is inspired by my mother-in-law who loves using this saying. "A child, a child shivers in the cold. A blanket would be as good as gold."
Haha. I guess I have too much time on my hands for thinking about these things!

Unconvential Use of Nursing Pillow
Please vote! I found Brian using my nursing pillow to rest his hands while he was playing the XBox.
Am I right in assuming that my husband has breached some kind of line here or am I wrong and Microsoft should start manufacturing these puppies for gamers worldwide?
Sydney does not mind until it is time to eat. I don't mind either, I just found it quite amusing. As Brian explained to his XBox friends he was online with: "It's so comfy and it wraps around me just right." Interesting....
Unbe-wreath-able
Please pardon the expression but I was amazed at how my wreath came out. I bought materials from Porter's and hot-glued the pieces on. I took a basic berry wreath and added dark berry sprays, some glittery pine leaves and some silvery beaded strands and Viola! got this. I was very proud. It looks better in person.
Look Who's Talking
These videos were taken at 3am a few nights ago. She is usually even more talkative than this but the camera had her mesmerized.

Soothing ritual
This will be my final attempt at getting this to work because I do not know why it is messing up. It first said that the video was unavailable and then it would only play the first second. I am sorry for those that did not have the chance to see the video. Maybe another time :)

Pumpkin Carving
Today we decided we would carve pumpkins! I really want to try to challenge myself each year. I have not improved very much in technique but I'm trying! I did not have much time this year as far as preparation goes.

Baby Blessing!
Today, Sydney was blessed! Brian did an excellent job and we were happy to have family and friends participate in the blessing: Father Tuck, Cousin Russ, Mike Wanstrom, John Holt, Marc Sunderland, and Ben Cook. Thanks for all your love! Also, we had several sisters help with recording Sydney's blessing. I will post that as soon as I get around to compiling all the transcripts.

I want to thank Sydney's Great-Grandma Sanders and Great-Aunt Melanie for this beautiful heirloom blessing dress!
And thank you Grandma Tuck for the amazing photos!

New Addition
Friday at 8:45pm Little Sydney Tuck was brought into the world at Madison Memorial Hosipital. Mom and baby are resting peacefully after a 36 hour labor that wore both down, and ended in Meagan having to have a C-Section. Sydney is a healthy little girl born at 8lbs even and a length of 21 inches and was labeled as "The most quiet baby we have ever seen," by the nursery attendants. She is feeding well and is doing everything on or before schedule so we are glad. She is extremely beautiful. Our family has remarked that she has Meagan's eyes and my nose and mouth. She has brown hair with a twinge of red showing. We are recoperating at the hospital and can't wait to take her home.
We would like ot thank everyone who has helped us. Meagan's family was great. They showed so much support and helped make Meagan's experience as easy as humanly possible. They are trying to soak up as much baby time as they can before they have to leave tomorrow morning. My mom was here too rooting Mea on during contractions and lending a comforting hand when called upon. She will be a great comfort with Meagan still in stiches.
We hope to be home by Monday evening at least so more visitors the merrier. More pictures to follow
